Card Swap Group

This is the gorgeous card I received this month from Aileen, a member of the Card Swap group, where the challenge was a fancy fold card  (Aileen's blog can be found here).
Aileen has used the Sale-a-Bration DSP freebie, Sweet Sorbet, along with the Petite Petals stamp set and co-ordinating punch. The base card is Basic Black with a knot of Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon.
Thanks Aileen, I love it

Another matching pair!

Firstly I must apologise for the rubbish photos but it was dark when I took them and I need to take them to work with me tomorrow! Anyway this is another matching card and treat box made for a work colleague who has recently had an operation. The treat box shown at the top and above right was made with the Envelope Punch Board, measures approx 3" x 4" x 0.5" and holds a small truffle bar. I used Whisper White to make the box and decorated with a bellyband made from Sweet Sorbet DSP (from the SAB brochure) and Petite Petals flowers punched out with the co-ordinating punch. The card was made with Stippled Blossoms and Sassy Salutations in Crisp Cantaloupe and Pear Pizzazz.

Notecard

I have a card/notelet to show you today that is made with the Envelope Punch Board. The DSP is a pattern from Sweet Sorbet, one of the 'freebies' in the SAB promotion, and I used Pistachio Pudding for the base card with contrasting Crisp Cantaloupe punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. The flowers are made with the Simply Pressed Clay and Blossom Mould coloured with a Crisp Cantaloupe marker with a few leaves from the Bird Builder Punch. The notecard is a piece of Whisper White stamped with the flower image and part of the sentiment from the Oh, Hello set and sponged around the edges with Crisp Cantaloupe.

Card with a Difference

Today's card is one that was inspired by a card I saw on Jenni Pauli's blog (here). I used Island Indigo for the card base, punched with the new Scalloped Tag Topper Punch available in the Spring/Summer catalogue from today, and the DSP on the front panel is from Watercolour Wonder which is also in the new seasonal catalogue. The Whisper White panel on the inside of the card has been stamped in Smoky Slate with an image from Summer Silhouettes. The sentiment is punched with the Word Window Punch and matted onto a Modern Label Punch and some (retired) Island Indigo ribbon was used to tie the card.

Celebrating 70!

This is a commissioned card that I was asked to make by a work colleague for her Aunt's 70th birthday. There was no brief, just 'a nice card' so I knew immediately what I wanted to do. A couple of weeks ago Paula Knall, a fellow SU team member, posted the most beautiful card on our groups Facebook page and I knew it was one that I would definitely CASE at some point and this was my chance! Paula's card can be seen on her blog here. It is a very similar style to lots of cards I have made before i.e. the design and layout but I loved the use of the subtle Crisp Cantaloupe and the small flowers from a new (soon available) set called Petite Petals. I added some leaves cut with the Little Leaves Sizzlits Die and a piece of Whisper White Taffeta ribbon which I had coloured with Crisp Cantaloupe and a sponge dauber. The sentiment is from Memorable Moments.
I will leave you with one last question - is it ever going to stop raining???
Bye for now

Simples Sunday & LIM

Well to make up for my lack of posts recently I have, not one, but 5 cards for your Simples Sunday post, and once again I have used this week's LIM Sketch challenge for inspiration.
On all of the cards I have used strips of new DSP, which will be available from Tuesday from either the Spring/Summer or SAB catalogues, along with co-ordinating ink and cardstock - Island Indigo, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Black and Pool Party. I have also used the new Petite Petals stamp set with co-ordinating punch (Spring/Summer catalogue) and Petal Parade (SAB catalogue) as well as the Butterfly punches, Heart Punch and Little Leaves die (Main catalogue). The sentiments are from a variety of current stamp sets.

All super easy!!
Have a good Sunday and thanks for visiting

LIM Sketch

The LIM challenge this week is a Sketch (top right) and, for my entry,  I have used some brand new products which will be available from 28th Jan in the Spring/Summer catalogue.

I started by gold embossing a sentiment from the Hostess set, Express Yourself, onto a piece of Whisper White card before adding two strips of the brand new Watercolour Wonder Designer Washi Tape (which is also gold!). The panel was then matted onto a piece of Gold Foil Sheet (making a re-appearance in the Spring catalogue) then onto a card blank.
The gold embossed flowers are also a new product called Petite Petals and were punched out with the new co-ordinating punch. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of gold but, like everything else, it has it's place!
I must apologise for my lack of comments on last week's LIM challenge but the week just seemed to disappear from my life without trace - I promise I will try harder next week :0) Thank you to all who leave such lovely comments on my blog, I appreciate each and every one of them.
Have a great weekend and I'll be back tomorrow

Card in a Box

My apologies for the lack of posts this week. There are a combination of reasons for this, one being I haven't got round to doing too much crafting and the little I have done has been for a class today. Secondly the lack of light for taking photos - dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home and thirdly I'm just being a bit lazy!!!
Anyway today's offering is called different things by different people - e.g Card in a Box, 3D card and Pop-up card - but, whatever it's called, this is my version.
There is a great video on YouTube, giving all the dimensions and a tutorial by a lady named Tanya, from Stampin T, which can be seen here.
I used Smoky Slate cardstock and DSP from the Neutrals Paper Stack, along with various flower stamps and punches, but I won't go into any more detail as you can pretty much use whatever you like. I have recently seen one which was a Valentine's card done with hearts instead of flowers.
The good thing about this card is that it folds flat and fits in a C6 envelope!
Back soon

Simples Sunday

I suddenly realised last night that I hadn't made a card for this week's Simples Sunday so, using the LIM challenge to make a baby card, I set to and made this very quick one.
I used Zoo Babies again but this time using the cute little giraffe stamped in Blushing Bride. The border is the negative part of one of the Tasteful Trims from the Bigz Die, again in Blushing Bride, with a few small pearls added and the sentiment is also from Zoo Babies. The panel was matted onto a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock and then onto a white card blank.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend

LIM Baby Card

I have come to the conclusion that, making a card for the LIM challenge on a Saturday morning, is becoming a bit of an obsession! I really did not have the time this morning to make cards but did that stop me? Well, as you can see, the answer is NO!!!
The challenge this week is to make a Baby card and here is my effort. I used Soft Sky ink and DSP along with the Labels Collection Framelits, a sentiment from Sweet Essentials and an elephant, fussy cut, from Zoo Babies and that's about it really. The only other thing which does not show up too well in the photo is that I cut another elephants ear from a scrap piece of card and positioned it with a dimensional and added three score lines to the bottom of the card.
That's all for today as I now need to rush :0)

Gift set

My apologies for the lack of posts recently but I am trying to get back into the 'work' routine after quite a long Christmas break! Being back at work also means I see very little daylight for taking photos so today's set has been taken using a daylight lamp and I don't think they've turned out too badly.

This is a little thank you gift set I have made using some retired Twitterpated DSP and Island Indigo ribbon but the cardstock and 'tools' are all current.
The chocolate bar treat holder below was made using the Envelope Punch Board, the tag with a new punch coming soon - the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

The matching card above was made with the same supplies but, this time, the Tag Topper Punch was used for a decorative panel on the card and layered with the DSP, also shaped using the punch. The tiny flowers on both the treat holder and the card were punched with one of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and have a Basic Rhinestone added to the centre.

Hopefully I won't be away for so long next time :0)
