Something a little different to show you today. I have been asked to make a selection of children's cards and as I have very few stamp sets suitable for little people I decided to do some punch art animals. I can't take any credit at all for the idea and I am in awe of those clever crafters who can look at a set of punches and think 'animals'. Whilst I always like to credit the original designers if I CASe anything with this particular subject it is almost impossible to track down who did the first one - so I will just say thank you to anyone who has thought of these even though I can't name you. If you do a Google search for Stampin'Up! Punch Art you will come across hundreds of animals, birds, insects etc etc so you are bound to find something suitable for whatever it is you want to make. I came up with too many choices so this is the first of five cards I have made over the past couple of days and I'm sure there will be more! I am not going to go into any detail as you can use different sized punches (even different shapes if needs be) but, with the exception of the die which was used to cut the background DSP, all of the products used are SU.
Punch Art can be quite time consuming and fiddly but I really enjoy doing this as I find it very satisfying to start with a few odd shaped bits of card and end up with something which, as soon as the eyes are added, becomes a little character.
I hope you like this and if you do then come back and visit again to see more of the little sneak peeks below.

ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant Margaret! I am seeing a lot of punch art out there. I've only ever made a sheep, but even that turned out really well. Looking forward to seeing the others.
ReplyDeleteYou've been making some wonderful cards Margaret! I love your selection of bunny Easter cards and the owl in the tree is a classic I'll never tire of. This punch art lion is fab too and so useful for children's cards - and of course the young at heart! Vicky x
