Another one for the men!

Another one for the men and this week's LIM challenge. This one was inspired by a card made by my sister for Dad's birthday last week, I say inspired and not CASe'd because I made this from memory as I only saw the card for a short time but it made enough of an impression on me to be able to produce something similar!
My sister's card was beautifully made in blue and silver but mine, as you can see, is in Old Olive and gold. The leaves are the Magnificent Maple stamp, which sadly is now retired, with one stamped in Old Olive and the other gold embossed - both fussy cut with paper snips. The 'splattering' in the background is a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and the sentiment from the Hostess set, Express Yourself, which is also gold embossed.
Thanks for looking and I'll be back tomorrow with another masculine offering!

Masculine SUO Challenge

The challenge at SUO (Stampin'Up! Only) this time is a Masculine card and, as I need a couple of cards for men over the next few weeks, I thought I'd give it a go.
My card is a triple time stamping card, of which there are several fabulous examples around but I first saw the idea on a YouTube video by Dawn Olchefske.
As it's for a man I decided that the lovely leaf stamp, Magnificent Maple, would be ideal and I have stamped it in Chocolate Chip onto Very Vanilla. The base card and mats are Soft Brown Sugar and the card was finished off with some Linen Thread, a button made with Simply Pressed Clay - coloured with a Baked Brown Sugar marker and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments. I decorated the inside with another leaf, this time stamped off to give a lighter shade, and a sentiment from Field Flowers.
Thanks for stopping by

Autumn on it's way

Yesterday I took delivery of an order I had placed from the new Stampin'Up! Seasonal catalogue and in it was this gorgeous leaf stamp, Magnificent Maple. When I saw that the colour inspiration challenge over at LIM this morning was Dark Green & Rust, and with the weather change over the last day or so, I knew I had to make an autumnal card using this stamp!
A very simple card made by stamping the leaf image in Cajun Craze with two more images stamped in Always Artichoke, stamped off first to make it look they are behind the original. The sentiment from Sassy Salutations was stamped in Always Artichoke, overlapping the stems.
This was then matted onto Always Artichoke cardstock and positioned in the centre of a 4" square card blank.
Have a great weekend and make the most of what may be the last of the summer sun!
