Still hospital visiting and still little time to blog, let alone craft! A very quick post showing you a card I made for someone a couple of weeks ago (couldn't show you until after her birthday!) It's quite self-explanatory if I just tell you the supplies I used and it also means I can get to bed :0)
Colour scheme - Baja Breeze and Whisper White, 'Nannie' stamped from Varsity Alphabet and cut out with paper snips, baby stamped with All in the Family, 'to my' from For my Family, flowers punched from Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, hearts punched with the Small Heart punch, Baja Breeze Seam Binding and Basic Pearls.
Apologies once again for lack of posts and also for the very brief post today. Back when I can x

Last Day for Cupcakes!

Yes it's the very last day you can get your hands on the lovely Create-a-Cupcake set from the Spring Mini - nobody knows whether this will be available in the future so, if you really want it, there is NO time to waste!
I was asked to make a personalised birthday card with cupcakes on it so this is what I've come up with. I started by stamping the name in Wisteria Wonder, using the Varsity Alphabet set and my Stamp-a-ma-Jig, along the bottom of a piece of Whisper White cardstock. The cake cases were then stamped on top of each letter in Pretty in Pink and the Perfect Plum Bow added. The frosting on the cakes was done with a variety of different methods - Heat'n'Stick with Dazzling Diamonds, clear embossing and silver embossing - and then cut out by hand (there is a co-ordinating punch to go with the set but unfortunately I don't have it!) After adding some decorations they were set aside until the rest of the card was finished. I stamped the sentiment from the Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess set down the LH side and tied a knot of Wisteria Wonder Ruffled ribbon next to it before matting onto Wisteria Wonder cardstock and then onto a DL card blank. The frostings were then positioned onto the cakes using dimensionals and a few randomly placed Basic Rhinestones were placed underneath the letters.
With the 'going out' of the Spring Mini there comes the brand new Summer Mini which starts tomorrow. There is an ILWS Blog Hop, starting at 10a.m, to celebrate it's launch with lots of inspiring projects to show you - so come back tomorrow (oh and set aside a few hours to do all that blog hopping!)

Polar Pals

Why is it that I always get inspiration for a card when I really should be doing something else? Well here it is. After taking delivery of my new goodies from the catalogue (and once I'd got round to mounting all the stamp sets) I had to have a play with these two sets, Varsity alphabet and the really cute Polar Pals. Apologies if I cause anyone offence by using 'XMAS' rather than 'Christmas' however I would have needed a very large card to fit the proper spelling on! It looks quite complicated but believe me it is easy with a few strategically placed post-it notes and a stamp-a-ma-jig. All the images are from Polar Pals (and these aren't all the stamps in the set) the 'xmas' is the varsity alphabet and the 'merry' is from another current set whose name escapes me at the moment -sorry. I started by stamping the large letters in a new In-Colour, Lucky Limeade, then after cutting some letters from post-it notes to use as a mask I stamped the penguins, stockings and candy canes and finally the trees which are all on one stamp. All the images were coloured using a blender pen and some Dazzling Diamonds were added around the card for some sparkle. This idea could also be used for a personalised card with 'Merry Christmas' on the banner and a name in place of the large lettering. I am going to enter this card for the St.Luke's Charity Card Challenge, whose theme this month is 'Masculine' as I think it would make a great card for a "Little Man".
The Varsity alphabet is a considered purchase but did you know that, with the new Hostess Benefits, if you place an order for £300 you can purchase ANY item in the catalogue at a 50% reduction as well as £50 Hostess Pounds to spend on whatever you like in any current catalogue*? So why not host a workshop or, if you prefer, collect orders from friends and place the order with me. What have you got to lose?
(* Hostess Pounds cannot be used to purchase your 50% item and 50% item does not count towards your Workshop total)
