I'm back with a second post today!! Whilst blog hopping the other day I came across another challenge site called Create with Connie and Mary which suits me down to a tee - you have to use SU products and it has to be CAS.
This week's challenge is a Sketch (see above right) and it gave me the perfect excuse to play with something new to me - the Quint Essential stamp. I actually got this stamp as a freebie in SAB but it is available to buy in the main catalogue. I stamped in Primrose Petals and then again without re-inking and then repeated this so I ended up with 4 images. I cut the base image out with the
23/8” Scallop Circle punch, the next layer with the 13/4” Scallop Circle punch and the remaining layers
with the 1” and 1/2” Circle punches then layered them using dimensionals. For the band across the card I took a 4cm strip of Primrose Petals and a 2cm strip of Whisper White cardstock, held them together and punched the ends using the 23/8” Scallop Circle punch. I slightly offset the Whisper White and adhered both to a C6 card blank. The 'flower' was then lined up with the cut out scallops and glued in place. A sentiment from Curly Cute and some Basic Pearls were added to finish the card. Below are a couple of close up's.
I thought that I would try another one in my all-time favourite - black and white. Made in the same way but mounted on a DL card base and a single rhinestone added to the centre of the 'flower'.
I'm a big fan of Create with Connie and Mary, they are both very inspiring. I love what you've made here.
