Today's card is one I made just before Christmas for a lad at the Special Needs School where I work. James has attended my after-school craft club since I started it 7 years ago, and I only remember him missing one week, so he has a special place in our hearts. He celebrated his 18th birthday the week before Christmas so we had birthday cake and this was the card I made for the after-school club staff and pupils to sign.
I used the, now retired, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet die to cut the letters from Night of Navy and the Glimmer paper stars were punched with one of the Merry Minis punches.

And now for something completely ...... simple!

The Less is More challenge today is to use string or twine and I have gone down the 'twine' route - Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine that is.
I really don't think you can get a much simpler card than this and super quick to make. Start by matting a piece of Whisper White onto a Cherry Cobbler mat then wind a piece of twine around to form the criss-cross on the front. Once this is done layer it onto a card blank and add whatever you wish! On this card I added a star punched with one of the Merry Minis punches using a dimensional, a Basic Rhinestone in the centre for that bit of Christmas sparkle, and a sentiment from Sassy Salutations stamped in Cherry Cobbler. Job done!
There appears to be several weather warnings out for gale force winds this weekend so, whatever you've got planned, stay safe and have a good one.

Autumn/Winter Catalogue Goodies!

Well my new goodies from the Autumn/Winter catalogue arrived while I was at work yesterday so I have hurriedly made these three cards this evening as I promised to show you something. They have been made with the Merry Minis Punch Pack (£15.50 for 3 punches), Greetings of the Season stamp set (£13.95 wood mount/£10.95 clear mount), scraps of Snow Festival DSP (£9.95), Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler & Brushed Silver cardstock and a few Basic Rhinestones. The punches have all been used to punch out shapes in a piece of Whisper White, with the Christmas Tree & Bauble being backed with a scrap of DSP and the Star layered onto a panel of Brushed Silver. The NOEL is silver embossed and the bottom edge of cardstock is punched with the Scallop Border punch. These were really quick to make, it took about half an hour for all three and I'm sure, once you've got all the measurements etc you could make them even quicker!
