Three Challenges in One!

Today's card is one I have made for three challenges in one but, having made it I'm not sure whether it entirely fits the bill for two of them! I used the sketch from CAS - Colours & Sketches challenge site shown left (is there enough stamping?) I am also entering it for LIM - String or Twine (is it CAS enough?) and the SUO Challenge 82 - Harvest Time.
The base card is Crumb Cake, as is the semi-circle which was inked around the edge with Crumb Cake ink. The circle in the centre is Naturals Ivory and both circles were cut with dies from the Circles Collection Framelits. A sentiment from Four You was stamped in Crumb Cake on the central circle before adding the leaves which were cut using the Autumn Accents die and sponged using Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red inks. For the twine I took a piece of Burlap Ribbon and separated some of the threads then tied around the top of the leaves in a knot. To finish the card I added some 'raindrops' to the leaves and circles using Crystal Effects.

Card Swap Group

Well another month has passed by so it's time for the Card Swap Group again. This time Jane has set the challenge to make an autumnal card and this is mine. I used the Autumn Accents Bigz die to cut some leaves using Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake and (retired) More Mustard cardstock. Then I got to work with my sponge daubers and Old Olive, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie inks to transform the leaves and added some scoring for the leaf veins. A piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock was stamped with the Woodgrain background stamp using Crumb Cake ink, matted onto a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then onto a naturals Ivory card blank. The leaves were positioned onto the card and a knot of a few strands taken from a piece of Burlap ribbon and a (retired) sentiment added which had been punched with the Modern Label Punch. As a finishing touch I added some drops of Crystal effects on the leaves to resemble rain drops. Hope you like it Victoria.

A very different style!

I have given this post it's title because, for me, that's exactly what it is - a very different style. Having said that, I really enjoyed making it and am surprisingly pleased with the finished card. It does look so much better in real life as the butterflies and leaves are both curled to stand out a little which gives more dimension than you see in a photo.
The reason behind the making of this card is that a demo on ILWS has decided to set up something new called 'Pinterest Challenge' whereby someone chooses a card they've seen on Pinterest and the challenge is to replicate it using SU products.
And this is the first one (far right)
The one thing that does annoy me about Pinterest is that when things are repinned so many times it can take a long time to get back to the original - if at all. However I think that the credit for this particular card should be given to someone called Nataliya Serova, but I could be wrong!
I'm sure you don't want to be bored by me giving you step by step detail of what I did so I will just tell you the products and leave it at that
Stamp sets - En Francais, Summer Silhouettes, In Stitches Wheel (which has been taken apart to make separate stamps), French Foliage and a retired sentiment
Elegant Butterfly Punch, Autumn Accents Bigz die
The background which the distressed panel sits on is a piece of Basic Black DSP from the Neutrals stack which has been sponged all over with Lucky Limeade - something I've never thought of doing but it does give a really nice effect.
If you would like to enter the challenge, or just take a look at what others have done, this link will take you there http://www.inlovewithstamping.com/forum/showthread.php?p=238630#post238630
I hope the next challenge card inspires me as much as this one did!

ILWS Blog Hop

Welcome to the ILWS Blog Hop showcasing products from the brand new Autumn/Winter catalogue and the 2012-13 Ideas Book & Catalogue. Scroll down to see what I've been making.

You will have come to me from Laura, at http://lauracreativeideas.blogspot.com/ who's idea it was and who is the first stop on the blog hop. Thanks for organising us all Laura :0)
I won't go into too much detail as you will want to move on to see all the other projects from the lovely demo's taking part.  The first set of things are made with the Ghoulish Googlies Bundle & Howlstooth DSP

The B&W striped Milk Carton above holds a battery nite lite and the picture in the centre shows what it looks like lit up when it's dark! Credit for the ideas of the Notebooks (top right) goes to Vicky Hayes (aka Crafting Clare) and Ange Juda (aka Chic'n'Scratch) for the Two-Fold Treat holder (bottom right). Next thing to show you are projects made with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die

Left & Right are cards made with the die cut leaves/acorns which have been sponged, scored and curled to give dimension and in the centre is a wreath made from die cut leaves and acorns which have been made in the same way. On the wreath I added some Crystal Effects to the acorns to make them a little more 3D. My final projects are showing you the fabulous new 2012-14 In Colours - Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals & Summer Starfruit. I used the Mixed Bunch stamp set & matching Blossom Punch along with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and Embossing Folders which were all in the Summer Mini but have thankfully been carried over to the main catalogue.

Right I hope you're not too bored now after this long post and you will carry on happily 'hopping'. Your next stop is Angela over at http://www.sparklycards.blogspot.co.uk/

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your journey :0)
