May Card Swap

I can show you the card I made for this month's Card Swap Group as I know Alison has received it now.
Alison's favourite colour is purple so I used Elegant Eggplant along with the SAB set, Banner Blast, and Gorgeous Grunge. A small piece of Bakers Twine and a few Basic Rhinestones were all that was needed to finish the card.

Card Swap Group

This is the fabulous card I received from Aileen for this month's card swap. Aileen makes lovely cards so do pop over to her blog here and take a look.
The challenge Jane set us this month was to make a card using pennants or banners in some form or another. Aileen has used the Banner Blast SAB set for this card, the same set that I've used for my swap but I can't show you that just yet as it is winging it's way to Alison as we speak!
This is very definitely my style of card - neutral colours, so clean and simple and just so elegant.
Thank you Aileen, I love it

Card Swap with a Difference

Our card swap group has branched out into making a 3D item this month - which suits me down to the ground!!
Jane sent us a link to a YouTube video post-it note holder, made by the very talented Angie Kennedy Juda (which can be seen here) as a guide to the size it should be but, other than that, she gave us free reign to create our own version.
It was my turn to make something for Jane and I happen to know that her favourite colour is pink so I used Pink Pirouette cardstock and DSP for the holder which matched perfectly with a pink post-it note pad I already had. I used a Labels Collection Framelit to shape the front of the cover and added a (retired) label, punched with the Extra Large Oval punch. Five flowers, punched from one of the Itty Bitty Punch Pack with a tiny Basic Pearl for the centre, and a Papillon Potpourri butterfly decorated the front cover. Two small magnets keep the holder closed.
Thanks for visiting

Card Swap

Today's card is one I made for this month's card swap. Jane set the challenge to use embossing so I chose the Stripes Embossing Folder. I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped images from Stippled Blossoms - a much neglected set which needs to come out again! It is a 2-step set so I stamped the base flower in Pink Pirouette and, using my stamp-a-ma-jig, overstamped using Rose Red with a few Pear Pizzaz leaves dotted around. I then ran this through the BigShot placing just the bottom half of the card in the embossing folder. It is matted onto Rose Red and then onto a card blank with the addition of a sentiment from Four You, punched with the Scallop Oval Punch and matted onto an Apothecary Accents Framelit.
That's all for today, back soon

Card Swap Group

This is what I've made for my Card Swap Group card this month. Jane has set the challenge to use oranges & yellows to cheer us up and whilst these are not my favourite colours, I'm not one to give up on a challenge!!
The tag was made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and stamped with a sentiment from Simply Celebrate and Petite Petals flowers, using Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight. The background is a piece of DSP, from the new Watercolour Wonder pack, matted onto Daffodil Delight cardstock and a white card blank. A piece of Bakers Twine was threaded through the tag and three Petite Petals flowers, punched with the co-ordinating punch, were added with tiny Basic Pearls for the centres.
I hope Zoe likes it! Back soon

Card Swap Group

This is the gorgeous card I received this month from Aileen, a member of the Card Swap group, where the challenge was a fancy fold card  (Aileen's blog can be found here).
Aileen has used the Sale-a-Bration DSP freebie, Sweet Sorbet, along with the Petite Petals stamp set and co-ordinating punch. The base card is Basic Black with a knot of Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon.
Thanks Aileen, I love it

Fancy Fold for Card Swap

The Card Swap Group challenge this month is to make a fancy fold card and this is what I've made. I have used some 'soon to be available' products from SAB and the Spring/Summer catalogue along with Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock. The card is cut from an A4 piece of card and the Sweet Sorbet DSP added to the three sides you can see in the photo on the left. For the middle section I used a piece of Whisper White and stamped with the co-ordinating stamp set, Petal Parade. Both the DSP and the stamp set are part of this years SAB promotion. To keep the card folded I made a bellyband with Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock, cut with the Tasteful Trims Bigz die and added some flowers - stamped with stamped with Petite Petals and punched out with the co-ordinating punch (both of these products will available from 28th Jan in the Spring/Summer catalogue). The card was finished off with a couple of sentiment stamps from Petite Pairs. Close up's of the stamped panel and bellyband are shown below

Hopefully Sue will have received this by now and I hope she liked it :0)

October's Card Swap

These are the cards I received from the lovely Alison, a member of the Card Swap Group, for last month's Autumn themed swap.
How lucky was I to receive two cards form Alison? She said this was because she thought she didn't have any stamps which fitted the theme so she made the one on the left before remembering she had the Trendy Trees set, which she used for the card on the right!! I love them both Alison so thank you very much.

Card Swap Group

Well another month has passed by so it's time for the Card Swap Group again. This time Jane has set the challenge to make an autumnal card and this is mine. I used the Autumn Accents Bigz die to cut some leaves using Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake and (retired) More Mustard cardstock. Then I got to work with my sponge daubers and Old Olive, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie inks to transform the leaves and added some scoring for the leaf veins. A piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock was stamped with the Woodgrain background stamp using Crumb Cake ink, matted onto a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then onto a naturals Ivory card blank. The leaves were positioned onto the card and a knot of a few strands taken from a piece of Burlap ribbon and a (retired) sentiment added which had been punched with the Modern Label Punch. As a finishing touch I added some drops of Crystal effects on the leaves to resemble rain drops. Hope you like it Victoria.

OTT Cupcakes!

This is a birthday card I made for the lovely Sue, a member of the Card Swap Group. Sue is a fan of orange & yellow and I wanted to steer away from the usual flowers so I thought 'cupcakes'! A bit OTT in my opinion but the thought was there :0)
Made using the Create-a-Cupcake set and co-ordinating punch in Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight with a touch of gold thrown in. The little hearts are from the Bird Builder punch and the flowers from Itty Bitty Punch Pack, with a sentiment from the now retired Curly Cute.
Hope you had a great day Sue.

Card Swap Birthday

This is the card I made for Aileen, a member of the Card Swap group, for her birthday yesterday. It was made in a bit of a rush because Jane, the organiser, was a little late telling us so it needed to be made and posted post haste! Poor Jane thought we had another couple of weeks to go so was in a bit of a panic emailing us and said that maybe we should look on it as a way of brushing up on our emergency card making skills :0) No problem Jane, I'm sure we can all rise to that challenge.
I made this in Aileen's favourite colour of purple (Elegant Eggplant) and used the Flower Shop stamp set. The flower in the centre of the row was stamped then punched out with the Pansy Punch and matted using dimensionals. I made the tag from one of the Chalk Talk Framelits and the sentiment is from Create a Cupcake.
Happy birthday Aileen and I hope you had a great day!

Card from Zoe

As promised I have Zoe's card to share with you today. This was from a previous month's Card Swap challenge to make a small card, no bigger than 4" square. At the time Zoe was lucky enough to be off to Utah after having earnt the SU Incentive trip - so had far more exciting things to do than make cards!!
Zoe has stamped images from Flower Shop using the Gold Metallic Encore Ink on two of the flowers and what a lovely effect it is. The panel is matted on an embossed card blank.
Thank you Zoe, it's lovely! (Zoe's blog can be found here)
