Another Chocolate Box

Back today with the bag/box that I made to match the card I showed you yesterday. It is made with Naturals White cardstock, stamps from Gorgeous Grunge in Raspberry Ripple and decorated with a flower made from Flower Shop and Petite Petals cut with co-ordinating punches,. The closure for the top is a piece of card cut with one of the Labels Collection Framelits, stamped and tied with a piece of Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon. The box holds a bag of continental chocolates.
That's all for today but I'll be back soon

LIM Baby Card

I have come to the conclusion that, making a card for the LIM challenge on a Saturday morning, is becoming a bit of an obsession! I really did not have the time this morning to make cards but did that stop me? Well, as you can see, the answer is NO!!!
The challenge this week is to make a Baby card and here is my effort. I used Soft Sky ink and DSP along with the Labels Collection Framelits, a sentiment from Sweet Essentials and an elephant, fussy cut, from Zoo Babies and that's about it really. The only other thing which does not show up too well in the photo is that I cut another elephants ear from a scrap piece of card and positioned it with a dimensional and added three score lines to the bottom of the card.
That's all for today as I now need to rush :0)

Classic & Elegant for HoC

Last week I entered a card for the House of Cards Challenge, using the sketch top right, to make a CAS card. I have another entry for this week's challenge which is using the same sketch but, this time, a Classic & Elegant card.
I used a piece of DSP from Modern Medley, cut diagonally, then fixed to a plain card blank to give the white 'x'. The retired SU sentiment Beautiful Birthday was stamped in Black Staz-on, cut with a Labels Collection Framelit then matted onto a larger framelit cut from Basic Black cardstock. A small loop of (retired) Basic Black Satin ribbon was glued to one side of the frame before fixing to the centre of the card using dimensionals. I added three small punched flowers, from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack with a Basic Rhinestone in the centre of each one.
My apologies for posting Weds card on Tuesday evening but, as this is for a challenge, I couldn't schedule it as normal because I needed to link it up to the challenge site and I can't do that when I'm not here! If you would like to see my Tuesday's 'new home' card scroll down to previous post :0)
Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back on Thursday

New Baby

A work colleague has just welcomed her first Granddaughter into the world so this is the congratulations card I have made for her. I find working with pink extremely difficult as it's not a colour I like so by no means the best card I've ever made but it's the thought that counts :0) I used the retired All in the Family for the image, along with some Pretty in Pink DSP, (both diecut with the Labels Collection Framelits), Pink Pirouette cardstock and taffeta ribbon and the sentiment is from Friendly Phrases. I did a bit of paper piercing around the diecuts, using a template from the Essentials pack and added a couple of Basic Pearls.

21st Birthday

This is a 21st birthday card I have been asked to make and is one which was inspired by the very talented Gill Prescott (see her card here). Gill not only makes beautiful cards but she also makes fantastic cakes - pop over to her blog and you can't fail to be inspired as well!
I have used Pool Party and Brushed Silver for the flowers, made with the Blossom Party die and a punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes pack. The sentiment is made up from individual stamps in the Memorable Moments set, although this is one of the more expensive SU sets I find it invaluable as you are able to make any combination of numbers (great for kids who like to be reminded of their age!) and also has an 'anniversary'  as well as the 'birthday' stamp. This was silver embossed and then cut with a die from the Labels Collection Framelits before matting onto a larger Pool Party diecut. Three loops of Pool Party ribbon (a freebie in the SAB ribbon & buttons pack) were placed onto the card before fixing the sentiment panel with dimensionals. As you probably know I like to make a matching bag for special cards so here it is

The retired sentiment was cut with an Apothecary Accents die.

Frame It!

I have been asked to make two birthday cards so I thought I would tie at least one of them in with the LIM challenge which, this week, is Frame It!
I used a stamp from Apothecary Art, stamped in Certainly Celery and then coloured the image with Summer Starfruit and Certainly Celery marker pens. This was cut out with a die from the Labels Collection Framelits and matted onto a larger diecut in Summer Starfruit to 'frame' the image. I added a bit of paper piercing around the larger diecut and placed a loop of Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin ribbon onto the card blank before fixing the frame with dimensionals and added a few Basic Pearls to finish. The sentiment is a retired SU stamp.
I have been suffering all week with the dreaded sore throat, cough and cold bug and, instead of getting better, it seems to be getting worse so it may be a trip to the docs on Monday :(0
Have a good weekend - if you can dodge the rain that is!!!!
