Tealight Boxes

Today I am showing you some little tealight boxes I made a couple of weeks ago for a Christmas Present Evening at a friend's house. Each of them held three red or green tealights which were decorated with some matching DSP. The boxes were made with Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler cardstock along with the co-ordinating Season of Style DSP and tied with Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler ribbon (both now retired). The embellishments were made using Mosaic Madness and the co-ordinating Mosaic Punch with a little Silver Glimmer paper.
I have to say, thankfully, these were very popular with the customers :0)

My apologies if my posts become a little erratic over the next week or so but all my spare crafting time is being taken up with making Christmas gifts and I will be unable to show these until they have been given to the recipients as I know some of them do visit my blog quite regularly!! But I will be back asap

This is a card I made for a very good friend who, sadly, lost her Mum earlier in the week. I got inspiration for the card from a fellow SU team member, Lizy Bartaby (you can see Lizy's card here). I used a stamp from Mosaic Madness, stamped in black Staz-on, and added a flower to the centres punched from one of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. A knot of Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and three Basic Pearls were added to finish the card.

Simples Sunday meets LIM

Today I have two cards for 'Simples Sunday' (and also more entries for the LIM challenge - White on White Christmas). I'm not too sure whether one of them entirely fits the White on White theme but the other one definitely does!

The simplest of the two cards is the one with white baubles and that is simply three 'baubles' punched with the Mosaic punch and run through the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I drew three silver lines down a 4" square card blank, glued two of the baubles directly onto the card and added the central one with dimensionals. The card was finished with a simple sentiment stamped in Smoky Slate and some Basic Rhinestones.
The second card was made in much the same way but the baubles are images from Mosaic Madness and were silver embossed before punching out so took a little longer to make. I have one more White on White card for you later in the week.
Have a great Sunday and I'll be back soon

White Christmas - Take 2

I have been reliably informed that today is World Cardmaking Day so, to celebrate, I have made a second entry for the LIM challenge - White on White Christmas. Any excuse not to do the housework!! :0)
The Stampin'Up! co-ordinated Mosaic set has always reminded me of baubles so I have used it for this Christmas card. The panel was embossed with the Modern Mosaic Embossing folder and matted onto a white card blank. The single Silver Embossed 'bauble' was stamped using an image from Mosaic Madness then punched with the Mosaic punch. This was positioned onto the card and embellished with a bow of Silver ribbon (available in the Autumn/Winter catalogue) and a single Basic Rhinestone in the centre. The sentiment is from Sweet Essentials, stamped in Smoky Slate, fishtailed at one end and a Basic Rhinestone at the other and fixed across the card.
Happy World Cardmaking Day and I'll be back tomorrow with a couple more White on White Christmas cards for 'Simples Sunday'

Table Gifts

Today I'm showing you the table gifts I have made for the ladies coming to my monthly class. I have made them with four of the 2012-14 In Colours - Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit and matching Stitched Satin Ribbon.
I saw the idea for these a few weeks ago on YouTube but, when I came to look at it again last week, the video had been removed by the author so I am unable to give any credit for the idea (or a link to the tutorial!) I had only watched the video briefly so, although I still had the idea in my head, I had no idea of measurements etc so it was a case of 'playing' until I'd got a finished box that I was happy with. This particular size allows you to make 2 boxes from one 12"x12" sheet of DSP and is a good size for a few sweet treats!
The box was finished off with tags made with the Mosaic Madness stamp set and co-ordinating punch with a sentiment from the Hostess set, Sweetly Framed.

Second Challenge of the Day!

My posts today are a bit like buses - none for ages then two at once! (If you have come to see my regular 'Simples Sunday' post then you need to scroll down) There is a reason for this and it's because I have stumbled across a brand new challenge site, just using current Stampin'Up! products, and run by a design team of SU demos from around the world - hence the name 'Around the World Stampin'Up! Challenges'. Click here for the link AW-01. Those regular visitors to my blog will know that I love making boxes etc and so, because 3D items are allowed, I couldn't resist posting an entry!
And this is it

A little gift box which holds a large tealight candle (bought from a local store and it coordinates with SU colours no less!)
The candle in this particular box matched beautifully with the new colour, Soft Sky, which I brightened up with Bermuda Bay Taffeta Ribbon. The top of the box has a panel of Whisper White which has been embossed with the Mosaic Embossing Folder and tags made with the Mosaic Madness stamp set and co-ordinating punch with a sentiment from the Hostess set, Sweetly Framed

Of course, as always when I make boxes, I had to make a matching card using the same supplies but this time with a sentiment from another Hostess set, Express Yourself.

Cards in a Gift Box

This is a gift I made for a friend and work colleague who left at the end of term. The box held six 4" square cards (below) and was made with Naturals White cardstock teamed with Summer Starfruit. I decorated the box with flowers from Flower Shop and the Pansy Punch, leaves from the Bird Builder Punch, sentiment from Bring on the Cake and butterflies stamped with Papillon Potpourri and punched with the Elegant Butterfly and Itty Bitty Butterfly punches. I tied the box with Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon

The two cards below used Stippled Blossoms (left) and DSP punched with the Hexagon Punch (right)

These two used the Artisan Label and Dotted Scallop Ribbon punches (left) and Flower Shop with a sentiment from Perfectly Penned (right)

And these two use Scallop Circle and Bitty Butterfly punches with a sentiment from Four You (left) and the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Mosaic Madness stamp set and an Itty Bitty Shapes punch (right).
Finally my card to give with the set, which matched the box.

Pop back tomorrow and I will show you a very similar set I made for another friend but with a different colour combo

Coastal Cabana Mosaic

I'm sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days but I have been busy making cards and gifts for work colleagues who will be leaving school next week. Anyway back today with a card made with the lovely new colours, Coastal Cabana and Smoky Slate, along with the Mosaic Madness co-ordinating products. I started by partial embossing a panel of Whisper White with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder. Then, using my stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped images from the Mosaic Madness set and finished off with a border at the bottom of the embossed section, again from Mosaic Madness. The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake and stamped in Coastal Cabana. the panel was matted and layered onto Coastal Cabana cardstock and a white card blank. To finish the card I stamped another mosaic image and punched this out with the Mosaic Punch and added it to the card using dimensionals.
I hope you are all enjoying the heatwave although, dare I say, it's far too hot for me! But then I am one of these people who moan when it's freezing and moan when it's hot - never satisfied some would say :0)
Back soon x

CAS Mosaics

As promised, I'm back with a quick CAS card using new products from SU. A new colour added to the Neutrals collection is Smoky Slate, a lighter almost silvery grey compared to the Basic Gray in the same collection. I've not tried it yet but I'm sure they would look lovely together and I can see them being used a lot for those male cards. I stamped three different images from Mosaic Madness and punched them out with the co-ordinating Mosaic punch (all available from July 2nd). The Whisper White panel was scored in the 'handkerchief style' which was invented by Vicky. If you didn't see my LIM card on Saturday then do go and check out Vicky's blog which can be found here and you will be able to see the beautiful cards she made in this style last week. It was then a simple job to put the card together, add a sentiment and a grey pearl in the centre of each punched mosaic to finish. (Pearls were non-SU from my stash)
