Simples Sunday

Last week I had a bit of a production line going making thank you cards so it was one of those times when I really need a simple design. In all honesty you really can't get much more simple than this!
I started with an 8cm square card blank and stamped the flower border with a stamp from Bordering on Romance. I then added a couple of River Rock leaves punched from the Bird Builder punch, a flower from the Boho Blossoms punch and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments which had been punched out with the Jewelry Tag punch. Really, really simple!! Apologies for the quality of the photo but I had to lay the cards down to get them all in and couldn't quite get the light right.

Bordering on Romance

After a very hectic weekend I have just realised I haven't scheduled a post for tomorrow so this is a card I made a few weeks ago and have not got round to posting yet . I was planning on showing you some of the fantastic handmade cards I received on my birthday but I haven't had a chance to take photos yet. I promise they will be on here sometime this week!
For this card I used a stamp from Bordering on Romance and white heat embossed it onto some vellum cardstock. I coloured it on the back of the vellum with Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Old Olive before fixing behind the oval aperture in a panel of Perfect Plum cardstock which had been cut with one of the Oval Framelits dies. A piece of Perfect Plum Taffeta ribbon was tied around the panel and then matted onto a white card blank. The sentiment, from Made for You, was white embossed, punched with the Large Oval Punch and matted onto a Scallop Oval punch. Here's a little close up for you

Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with a less hurried post :0)

CASEing Again

Another CASE'd card on a similar theme to yesterday's post. This time I have used Calypso Coral for a Curly Cute sentiment, the one in the middle is stamped directly and the others stamped off first to give a lighter shade. I added a border with a stamp from Bordering on Romance, a knot of ribbon from the free SAB set and some butterflies punched with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. Some Basic Rhinestones were added to the butterflies to 'bling' it up a bit.
To make this type of card you really need the Stamp-a-ma-Jig to line up the sentiments unless, like me, you happen to have a clear mount sentiment which makes the job so much easier!!

Two of Six

As you read this pretend it is tomorrow (Thursday) because I meant to schedule the post for then but hit the wrong button and can't seem to alter it now!!!
Yesterday I showed you a card which was part of a set so, today, I thought I'd show you the second card - again with a colour scheme of Crumb Cake and Basic Black. I started by cutting a piece of Crumb Cake DSP and cardstock to fit onto an A6 card blank and then cut the bottom edge of the DSP with a die from Adorning Accents Edgelits and embossed the bottom edge of the cardstock with the matching Adorning Accents Embossing folder both from the Summer Mini (which incidentally finishes in just over a week on 31st August). An image from Bordering on Romance, also from the Summer Mini, was stamped in Basic Black onto the DSP along with a sentiment from Sincere Salutations and small flowers made with the Boho Blossoms punch and one of the Itty Bitty punches were placed on the stems. Tiny Basic Pearls were added to the centres of the flowers to finish the card off. I will try to be back tomorrow with card number 3.

Thursday, 19 July 2012

A really quick post before I head off for bed - absolutely shattered as seems to be the norm at the moment! I needed a quick card for a work colleague who is leaving us tomorrow. I used a stamp from Bordering on Romance, coloured the stems with an Old Olive marker and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock. I then added three flowers punched with an Itty Bitty Punch with a Basic Pearl for the centres. The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations and the butterfly from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die. There was a fair bit of matting and layering on this, using Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry, and the centre panel was mounted with dimensionals.
I apologise again for the lack of posts recently but, with my Dad still in hospital, there is very little time for crafting or blogging!

Wednesday, 11 July 2012

Yet another thank you card this time using Bordering on Romance. I embossed the oval shape from the Designer Frames Embossing set on Whisper White cardstock and then punched a large oval in a piece of paper to use as a mask before stamping just the leaves and stem part of a stamp from Bordering on Romance. I did this by colouring the part of the stamp I wanted with an Old Olive marker. The border stamp down the side is also from this set and stamped in Perfect Plum. The panel was matted onto Perfect Plum cardstock, a knot of perfect Plum Taffeta ribbon tied around and then layered onto a card blank. The flowers were punched with the smallest flower punch in the Itty Bitty Punch Shapes pack and a tiny Basic Pearl added to the centres. The card was finished with a sentiment from Curly Cute.

Thanks to all those who are asking about Dad, he is still in hospital so the trekking back and forth continues and looks like it could go on for some time yet.

Firstly my apologies for the lack of posts this week - life just seems to have run away with me!
This card is one that I case'd from Joanne Friend, a fellow SU demo, whose card can be seen here. It uses a stamp from Bordering on Romance, a set in the Summer Mini, which was stamped in Soft Suede onto Naturals Ivory cardstock and the edges 'blurred' with a blender pen. After inking around the edges the image was layered onto a slightly larger piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock. This was matted onto an A6 card blank which had been matted with Soft Suede DSP from the Neutrals Paper Stack and a sentiment banner added. The card was finished off with three pink butterflies cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die.
I will try not to leave it so long before posting again but, until then, have a great weekend.

The card I'm showing you today was a little experiment with one of the brand new Edgelits Dies from the Summer Mini. I cut one side of a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock with the die and then turned it round and cut the other side to match. This was placed in the centre of a white card blank before adding the sentiment, punched with the Extra Large Oval, in the centre. Some small flowers, from the Itty Bitty Punch Shapes Pack, were arranged and a Basic Rhinestone added to their centres. The card was finished off with a border stamp from Bordering on Romance.
Well it looks like summer has finally arrived so enjoy whatever you have planned for the week and I'll be back soon x

One Layer - 3 Stamps

Making cards was not on my agenda for this morning as I have so many other jobs to do this weekend but when I saw the Less is More challenge - One Layer, 3 Stamps - an idea immediately sprang to mind (believe me that doesn't happen often!) so I had to go and get it out of my system.
I know a lot of people struggle with One Layer, CAS cards but I think they are my all time favourite - Less is More as they say!!!!
I have used two stamps from the brand new Bordering on Romance set, which is available in the Summer Mini, and a sentiment from Curvy Verses which were all coloured with Tangerine Tango and Old Olive markers. It was then a simple job to colour in the leaves and the flowers with a blender pen and, just to add a bit of interest, I scored two lines in the corner where the image is. Job done!
Come back tomorrow to see a card I have made for a charity appeal but in the meantime have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine - while it lasts x
