Today's cards are unashamedly CASE'd from the lovely Aileen - a fellow SU demo and a member of the Card Swap group. See her card here and, while you're there, have a look at her other lovely creations. Aileen and I seem to have very similar tastes, the last 2 weeks we have, unknowingly, used the same stamp sets and colours for the LIM challenges and one week our cards were so similar it was untrue!
Anyway I had to have a go at this really CAS baby card and ended up making three - one in Pistachio Pudding, one in Soft Sky and the last in Pink Pirouette. The babygro is from the Baby Tees wheel and the sentiment from Love & Laughter.
I hope you've had a good week and, hopefully, I'll be back tomorrow for the LIM challenge.

Another commissioned card and this time for a wedding. The colour scheme needed to be gold and burgundy so gold embossing, Brushed Gold and Bravo Burgundy cardstock fitted the bill perfectly. Stamp sets used were Confetti and Love & Laughter along with the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits (for the dress and suit), a die from Apothecary Accents Framelits set and the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack.
The picture bottom left shows the bag I made for the card to go in.
Posts are a little short this week as they were all written in advance (on the same night!) and scheduled to post each day but maybe that's a good thing :0)
As always, any questions about the cards, to buy products or for further information on Stampin'Up! then please feel free to contact me (details on the 'Contact me' tab above)

Scallops

Good morning, well it's snowing - again! A good excuse for me to do a bit of catching up with my blog :0)
This week LIM have a guest designer, Lizy Bartaby, who has set the challenge of 'Scallops'. Lizy's projects are lovely so do pop over to her blog (here) and take a look.
Now I have a confession to make - today's entries were not made for the challenge, they were made a while ago but have just not managed to find their way onto my blog yet! They are scallops so I thought it was an ideal opportunity to kill two birds with one stone - get them on here and enter the challenge! I do love scallops so I'm sure I will be back with more entries specifically made!
The card and treat box were made for a friend's birthday using the Ovals Framelits collection and Bigz Alphabet Typeset dies with a stamp from Mixed Bunch. I used Baja Breeze DSP and, to get the scallops around the central oval, I punched a strip of DSP with the Scallop Border punch and snipped down each scallop to allow me to shape around the oval. The 'H' was cut from chipboard covered with DSP. The larger base oval was run through the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder before assembling the card. The treat box was made with the large scallop oval, again from the Ovals Framelits.
My second card is a wedding acceptance card using a stamp from Love & Laughter, silver embossed and matted onto Brushed Silver cardstock. The sentiment is computer generated and is matted onto a Scallop Oval.

Paper Piercing

When I saw this week's challenge at Less is More was Paper Piercing it gave me the perfect excuse to play with the Essentials Paper Piercing pack which I got free in the Sale-a-Bration promotion. When I read the challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do but would the sentiment fit? The answer - yes perfectly!! I started by paper piercing a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then, using my stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the 'Mr&Mrs' stamp and the congratulations (from Love & Laughter) in Versamark and silver embossed them. This is where something simple became complicated - I had 3 attempts at this before getting one I was happy with because, for some unknown reason, I kept smudging it!!! Anyway finally I matted the panel onto Brushed Silver cardstock and then onto a card blank before adding two tiny flowers with a Basic Rhinestone centre. A CAS card which could be used for either a wedding or Anniversary card. Not happy with stopping there I made another, completely different, card which thankfully worked first time.

I used the heart template to paper pierce two intertwining hearts and added two sentiments from Petite Pairs in Rich Razzleberry, this was matted onto Rich Razzleberry cardstock then on to one side of a card blank. Some small hearts, from the Owl Builder punch, were added down the side.

Well it's trying VERY hard to snow here at the moment and it's bitterly cold so, whatever you are doing this weekend, keep warm and have a good one x

Golden Wedding

Today's card is one I've been asked to make for a Golden Wedding Anniversary. I used the flourish stamps from Wedding Sweet and gold embossed them onto Whisper White cardstock. The sentiment is from Memorable Moments and this is also gold embossed. I made the little flowers from Brushed Gold cardstock, punched with one of the Itty Bitty Shapes punches, and placed one of the smallest Basic Pearls in their centres. The ribbon was taken from my stash as, sadly, SU do not make a gold ribbon (as yet!). The panel was matted onto Brushed Gold cardstock and then onto an A5 card blank. I made a box to put the card in, which was made from non-SU white card, with ovals punched for handles and a Scallop Oval trim. The sentiment from Love & Laughter was gold embossed and punched with the Decorative Label punch, matted onto a Brushed Gold Decorative Label which had been cut in half. Three white flowers and some Basic Pearls were added.
Well it's Friday again and the weekend will soon be upon us - have a good one and come back soon x

Christmas Wedding

I’m back today to show you something that I considered to be a personal ‘challenge’. A work colleague asked me to make a wedding card for her brother, who is getting married 2 days after Christmas, with a colour scheme of red & gold. Now, particularly at this time of the year, red & gold shouts Christmas to me – not weddings, so I really struggled to come up with an idea. As the gift is going to be money she wanted a special, personalised card so I hope I have succeeded.
I used Naturals Ivory for the card base layered with Riding Hood Red which I had gold embossed down one side with a stamp from Confetti and the ‘Congratulations’ from Love & Laughter. The names were computer generated and printed on Naturals Ivory before adding them to a tag made from Brushed Gold cardstock with a knot of Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon. I did a little bit of scoring on the card and added some tiny Brushed Gold hearts, from the Owl Builder punch, to finish the card. I made the matching envelope for the money using a retired stamp. All I need to do now is make the gift bag to put it in and the job’s done!

Until next time wrap up and keep warm x

LIM - Something Shiny!

Well it's been a while since I entered the Less is More challenge, for no other reason than lack of time or circumstances! So this week I was determined to join in again and discovered that this week's challenge is 'Something Shiny' and here is my effort.
I used the Love & Laughter set from the Summer Mini and embossed the dress, sentiment and heart in silver then, just to add a bit of interest, I shaped two sides using the Adorning Accents Edgelits die (also in the Summer Mini). I used the die again to shape a piece of Brushed Silver cardstock and cut this slightly larger to enable me to layer the image on top and leave a border. After matting this onto a card blank I punched three flowers from Itty Bitty Shapes pack from some card stock which I had previously spritzed with Platinum Shimmer paint and leaves from the Bird Builder punch in Brushed Silver and added these to the top corner. Basic Rhinestones were placed in the centre of the flowers and the heart to finish the card.
Well the weather here is really miserable again - very windy and dark so I guess we're in for yet more rain very soon! Whatever you are doing this weekend have a good one x

Love & Laughter

Here are two more cards I have made to send to Jo to sell for the Candlelighters Appeal (see previous posts for more info) and it was the perfect excuse for me to use my Love & Laughter stamp set which is brand new in the Summer Mini. For the top card I embossed the wedding dress stamp in silver and cut one end of the card with one of the Edgelits dies and then matted it onto a longer piece of Basic Black cardstock which had also had one end shaped with the die. This was then layered onto a white card blank and some Basic Rhinestones added down the side. The sentiment (also from love & Laughter) was silver embossed, punched with the Curly Label punch and matted onto a Basic Black Decorative Label with a couple of Basic Rhinestones added. The second card was also made with a silver embossed image and matted on Basic Black. A piece of Whisper White was embossed at the top and bottom with the heart folder from the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders set. matted onto Basic Black and then layered onto a white card blank. The silver embossed sentiment was punched with the Modern label punch and added to the bottom of the card.
