Bye, Bye

Today we will be saying goodbye to some SU favourites and I thought I would use some for a challenge over at ILWS.
Each month a card is chosen from Pinterest and you are asked to replicate it using SU products. This month's card (right) was designed by Natasha Trupp and can be seen here.
For my entry I have used Lucky Limeade and More Mustard cardstock along with a sentiment from A Word for You and the images are from Circle Circus.
The banners are made from Lucky Limeade and More Mustard DSP with a little bit of Twitterpated tucked in.

Tomorrow sees the launch of the brand new 2013-14 catalogue with some exciting new products. I will be putting a link to the catalogue on my sidebar but, if you would like a 'proper' copy, please don't hesitate to contact me at margaretk21@hotmail.com and I will be happy to help. The catalogue costs £5 which includes p&p. Until the end of July I am offering free p&p with any order over £50 so, again, please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like to take advantage of this offer. (Please note this is an offer from MaKing Papercrafts and NOT from Stampin'Up!)
If you are considering become a demonstrator and would like to join my team then please contact me for a no-obligation chat about the benefits on offer. You really have nothing to lose I promise!

Less is More - Cats!

Having said in my Simples Sunday post, earlier today, that I was going to have a few days off from blogging here I am back already!!!! When I saw the LIM challenge this week was 'Cats and/or Dogs' I thought I was scuppered as I don't own any stamps that would fit the challenge. However not to be beaten I decided a bit of punch art was called for and this is what I have come up with. I can't take credit for the idea of the punch art cats as they have been stalking around blogland for a very long time but these are my versions. Mostly made with Circle punches of varying sizes but with the addition of the heart noses from the Owl Builder and the ears from the Blossom Builder punches.
The sentiment is from A Word for You. Just to add a little texture to the card I diagonally scored lines in the top right and bottom left corners and added a couple of Glimmer Paper hearts.
I am currently working on a Super Heroes punch art card for my Grandson's 5th birthday so, as soon as I have finished it, I will be back to show you. Until then enjoy the rest of the weekend x

A Chocolate Treat

Last week I showed you a card I had made with some 'leftovers' (picture below) and today I'm showing you a treat box which was made to match.

I needed a small gift for a work colleague and, having already made the card, I decided to make a matching box to hold a small box of chocolates.
The box is made with some sturdy white cardstock (non SU) and decorated with stamps from Field Flowers in Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder. The sentiment is from A Word For You, punched with the Decorative Label punch and finished with a couple of Basic Rhinestones.

Field Flowers

This is a card I made for no particular reason although I'm sure it will come in handy at some point!
I used a piece of Elegant Eggplant cardstock and cut an aperture with a die from the Ovals Collection Framelits. I then stamped images from Field Flowers, to go behind the aperture, using Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Old Olive onto Whisper White. Before attaching to the card blank I embossed two fancy lines along the bottom of the Elegant Eggplant panel using one of the Adorning Accents Embossing Folders and rounded the corners of both this and the card blank. The sentiment is one from A Word for You which was fussy cut before fixing to the card.
Tomorrow I will show you a second card I made with the leftover oval which was cut out and the same stamp set.

Do you ever have times when you don't want to write a letter but you want something a little different to a card? Well I have set myself the task of designing a set of 'let's call them notelets' for my class in April and this is just one that I've come up with so far.
It is a C6 sized tag made with Soft Suede and Very Vanilla cardstock and decorated with Pool Party flowers made with the Blossom Party die and Boho Blossoms punch. The stems from Field Flowers are stamped in Certainly Celery and the sentiment from A Word for You in Soft Suede. A hole was made in the top and some Pool Party Ruffled ribbon threaded through and tied with Pool Party Baker's Twine. The small picture shows the back of the notelet, a square of Very Vanilla cardstock with plenty of room for you to write on.

Card Swapping!

I was recently asked by Jane, a regular visitor to my blog, if I would like to take part in a card swap group which started this month. Jane has organised a group of 10 crafty ladies so that we each make a card and, once a month, we send it to the next person on the list (and when it's our birthday we get a card from everyone in the group!). The idea behind this is to get inspiration from fellow crafters whilst at the same time getting to know each other. I will, of course, be posting both the cards I make and the cards I receive and here is my first 'make' which hopefully Alison will have received by now!
As the cards need to go through the post I needed to make a fairly flat card and this is what I came up with. The colour scheme is Raspberry Ripple, Crumb Cake and Naturals Ivory, stamp sets are Bloomin'Marvelous, Pretty Petites, A Word for You and Tiny Tags along with the Scallop Square, Square and Jewelry Tag punches. As I wanted to keep the card flat I paper pierced a scallop border down the card just to add a little bit of detail as well as a couple of Basic Pearls.
If you would like to join the group and get a card through the post each month then please contact me and I will pass on Jane's details to you.

LIM - Spots and Stripes - Take 2!

Not being very happy with my first entry for the LIM challenge Spots & Stripes I had to have another go and I'm a bit happier with this one. Using masking and sponging again, I punched three squares in a piece of copy paper, placed this on top of my card blank and sponged with Wisteria Wonder. Leaving the mask in position I stamped the spots with the Confetti stamp in Elegant Eggplant and drew in the stripes with the thin end of a marker pen, again in Elegant Eggplant. The sentiment is from A Word for You.
I think that's it for today as I really must get on with the things I NEED to do and stop doing the things I WANT to do!! Have a great weekend and I'll be back tomorrow with my Simples Sunday card x

Less is More and Pink!

Oh dear there is a colour challenge at LIM this week and, as you can see, it involves PINK! I have to admit that I don’t like pink – and I like working with it even less. However this is a challenge site and it was very definitely a challenge for me this morning. I have come up with two cards and in all honesty I don’t like either of them but am posting them just to show you I tried :0)

What do you think?

For this card I used the butterfly stamp from the SAB set, Bloomin’ Marvelous, and stamped in graduated colours using Rose Red (stamped off first to give a shade of pink), Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink onto Whisper White cardstock. I added some paper piercing under the butterflies using the Essentials Paper Piercing pack (another SAB freebie) and this was matted onto Naturals White cardstock which also had two rows of paper piercing. A piece of Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon was placed over the join before layering onto a Crumb Cake card blank. A few gems and part of a sentiment from A Word for You were added to finish the card.

My second card uses Create a Cupcake stamp set and co-ordinating punch. The frosting was stamped in Pink Pirouette onto Very Vanilla cardstock and the cake case was punched from Pretty in Pink DSP. The sprinkles and bow were stamped in Melon Mambo as was the sentiment from Bring on the Cake. This was matted onto Crumb Cake and then onto a Naturals Ivory card blank before adding two tiny butterflies, cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die.
Please feel free to criticise – I promise I won’t be upset :(0
Come back tomorrow for another Simples Sunday card but, until then, have a great weekend x
